Keswick on Derwentwater and the Northern Lakes covers one half of the Lake District National Park. This is the perfect area to choose equally for gentle relaxation or for an action packed family adventure holiday with lots of things to do.
Whinlatter puts the mountain back into biking, making full use of its landscape to offer some fantastic trails. The red graded Altura trail was opened in 2009 and is already a classic.
The Keswick Boat Launch provides frequent trips around Derwentwater in both
directions;stopping at Keswick, Ashness Gate, Lodore, High Brandelhow,
Low Brandelhow, Hawse End and Nichol End.
Swing through the trees, climb cargo nets, and tackle obstacles high up in the trees, with a forest adventure at Whinlatter Forest.

Keswick Leisure Pool and Fitness Centre offers a unique leisure experience in Allerdale. With its warm waters, wave machine and 'black hole' flume there is fun for all the family.
A local Victorian Museum revealing Keswick's surprising past, including its many 'firsts' and its famous residents. The 1897 purpose built museum is set in beautiful Fitz Park and has retained its original Victorian feel.
One of the most beautifully located theatres in all of England, just a few hundred yards from Derwentwater. A year-round professional drama production, it provides a variety of entertainment to suit all tastes.
In 2001 a pair of ospreys, which nested beside Basssenthwaite Lake, became the first wild osprey to breed in the Lake District for over 150 years. The birds return every summer to the area.
Why not go deep underground when the weather isn't at its best, and enjoy a tour with a difference at Honister Slate Mine. The braver souls should try the Via Ferrata.

Children 12 years and over will be charged at the adult tariff.
Children 5-11 sharing a room with an adult will be charged at 50% of the adult nightly rate.
Children under 5 years are very welcome and charges will be 25% of the Adult rate for Children 1– 4, Children under 1 year will be free. The house does not have special facilities for the under 5\\\'s e.g. Cots, Highchairs etc.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of arrival or \\\"no show\\\" bookings will be charged at 70% of the full rate. In the case of short notice (14 days) cancellations, we will endeavour to re-let, but any room we are unable to re- let will be charged at 50% of the full rate. Guests cancelling their bookings in advance of these times may have their deposit transferred to a date later in the same year.
Arrival & Departures
Rooms are not guaranteed to be available until 2.00pm and departure is required by 10.00am. Any guest that wishes to arrive after 7pm should do so by arrangement, although unfortunately we are unable to provide hot meals after this time.
Well behaved dogs are allowed at the discretion of the managers, they are not allowed in any public rooms, are allowed in bedrooms but not on the beds. Please clean and dry all dogs on entering Seatoller via the back door. Please ensure you clean up after your dog has been in the garden.
