Beautiful Guest House in Borrowdale near Keswick

Seatoller House is a beautiful guest house seven miles south of Keswick at the head of Borrowdale. It is over 300 years old and has been a guest house for over 100 years. It is the largest building in the hamlet of Seatoller.

The house prides itself on its friendly welcome, an informal atmosphere and good home cooked food. It is an excellent centre for exploring the Lake District and is popular with walkers, artists, and those who want immediate access to the fells.

The Library and Sitting Room provide a comfortable setting for relaxing and discussing the day with fellow guests. The Tea Bar allows guests to get hot and cold beverages, snacks and best of all a daily homemade cake. Jennings beer and other drinks are available as well.

The dining room has two large traditional oak tables creating a friendly atmosphere where guests are served a set meal at 7 pm (excluding Tuesdays). Breakfast is a relaxed affair at 8am, with a range of choices.

There are 10 bedrooms all with private bathrooms, a large delightful garden surrounding the house and ample private car parking.

Guests receive a warm welcome from managers Nigel and Patricia Dixon. Patricia has lived in the valley most of her life and with Nigel seeks to source local produce of great quality for all the home cooked food they produce. Do ask them for local tips of places to visit!

Please note: The house is open from early March until the end of November each year.
